The Boeing 787, having just taken off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, lost control and crashed directly into the BJ Medical College premises. It burst into a massive ball of fire upon impact, reducing parts of the complex to rubble.
The accident has been described as one of the worst air tragedies in recent Indian aviation history, with many victims feared dead not only on the ground but on board the ill-fated aircraft as well.

Search Operation Underway; Many Still Feared Trapped
FAIMA national vice president Dr Divyansh Singh confirmed the ongoing search operations at the crash site. “Bodies that have been found were totally charred,” he said grimly, highlighting the intensity of the explosion and fire.
He further added, "The search operation at the crash site is still going on and many are feared buried in the debris." Rescue efforts have been intensified, but the dense smoke, fire damage, and scattered debris are reportedly hindering progress.
What was meant to be an ordinary academic day at one of Gujarat’s premier medical institutions has turned into a scene of unspeakable horror and loss. With young lives lost and a medical community reeling in shock, the nation stands in solidarity with those affected by this catastrophe.
