Indian Luxury Segment Has Blossomed With Custom Made Cars Like The Mercedes-AMG G63 Collector Edition
The luxury segment in India has grown but the super luxury space has also seen a rise with a demand for top-end vehicles. It seems India has a clear appetite for these ultra luxurious cars and the volumes have gone up. The G-Class for example has a long waiting period and sales of the Maybach subrand have also increased.

However, the importance of the Indian market can be seen with the custom made cars specifically for our market. It brings back the era of the Maharajas where custom vintage cars were the order of the day. The G-Class G63 Collectors edition for our market is an example where only 30 units have been made but the car has been specially commissioned for India while it is for current top-end customers of Mercedes.

There are two India specific paint options inspired by the monsoons including a Mid Green Magno and Red Magno. The interior also gets customisable options and there are different 22inch alloy wheels finished in gold which adds a contrast effect.
Customers can also engrave their own name on the grab handle too. The price for the Collector edition is higher at Rs 4.3cr but with these limited numbers, this G63 is only for the current Mercedes-Benz top-end customers.

While the twin turbo V8 remains the same, the G63 Collectors edition shows the maturing of the Indian market and how the tastes have evolved. The Indian luxury car market while still being a small part of the total sales has seen drastic change with products like these. Going forward we can see more such specially designed cars for the Indian market too.
