Who is Amritpal Singh Mehron, ‘key conspirator’ in Kamal Kaur Bhabhi murder case?

A radical Sikh leader, Amritpal Singh Mehron, aged about 30, has a controversial past. He is facing some cases of violence, including one of attempt to murder. As per the police theory, he is the key conspirator in the murder of social media influencer Kanchan Kumari, popularly known as Kamal Kaur Bhabhi.

Mehron leads a self-styled radical organisation ‘Qaum De Rakhe’. He, along with others, was booked in 2020 for allegedly vandalising some statues of folk dancers at the heritage street near the Golden Temple in Amritsar.

Last year too, he had threatened a music producer in Barnala in a similar fashion, said the police.

He works as a diesel mechanic and is a resident of Mehron village in Moga district. He unsuccessfully contested the Assembly elections as SAD (Amritsar) candidate from Tarn Taran in 2022.

The same year, he was booked for flaunting weapons on social media and making ‘threatening’ remarks to PCC chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring.

Bathinda SSP Amneet Kondal said that police teams were trying their best to trace him.
