Online joint prospectus for govt, private-aided colleges released

The admission process to local government and privately managed aided colleges, affiliated to the Panjab University, Chandigarh, for the session 2025-26 started today with the release of the joint prospectus, published by the Directorate of Higher Education, Chandigarh Administration.

As many as 21,500 seats will be available for the applicants to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Meanwhile, there will no change in the seats of undergraduate courses in government colleges and all postgraduate degree (two-year) courses will continue in this session as per the practice in the previous year.

The joint prospectus provides detailed information regarding admission procedure, eligibility requirements and available courses of the government institutions.

The provisions regarding National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 for subjects offered and credits allocated are specified in the prospectus for students seeking admission in the first year and the second year applicants. On the recommendation of the rationalisation committee, choice of major in different subjects has been offered in four-year undergraduate honours/honours with research courses under the NEP 2020 in the government colleges of Chandigarh.

For centralised course, the applicant has to submit preference of the college, based on which the seat will be allotted. The candidate will also have to give preference for a combination of five subjects. Date of submission of admission form for all centralised courses (BBA, BCA, BCom) started on June 13 and will go on till June 28, and the date of submission of admission form for all non-centralised courses and PG courses also started from June 13 and will go on till July 4.

The detail of the seats available in various undergraduate courses in government colleges are BBA (240), BCA (320), BCom (700), BA (3,000) and BSc (640). The prospectus has been drafted and designed by the joint prospectus committee of PGGC-11 under the guidance of Rama Arora, principal. The committee was present at the launch of the online joint prospectus released by Rajiv Verma, Chief Secretary, UT Chandigarh, Prerna Puri, Secretary Education, and Rubinderjit Singh Brar, Director Higher Education.

Chandigarh
