Main accused arrested for kidnapping two boys
The Faridabad police have arrested a key accused involved in the kidnapping of two children and demanding ransom of Rs 30,000 from their parents.
The accused along with his accomplices held the kids hostage at Oyo Hotel and demanded ransom for their safe release.
The accused has been identified as Sameem (25), a resident of Badkhal colony, Faridabad. Sameem was presented before the court, which remanded him in two-day police custody.
Aman, a resident Shiv Durga Vihar, Lakkadpur village, told the police that his cousin Ashish used to reside with him. On June 5, around 9:40 pm, Ashish went to eat ice cream. Later, it came out that Ashish’s friend Rishabh had also accompanied him and did not return home.
Rishabh’s father said he received a call from an unknown person who sought Rs 30,000 ransom for the safe release of kids.
During interrogation, Sameem revealed that he had called Rishabh on his cellphone and asked him to come near Sidhdata Ashram. From there, he along with his other companions took both the boys in a car at Oyo Hotel in SGM Nagar. “As family members of the boys sent Rs 5,000 on Sameem’s phone, the police traced his location and arrested him. Sameem has four cases registered against him. His companions will be arrested soon,” said a spokesperson of the Faridabad police.
