Kala Amb gets smart meters by power board
Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) has taken a significant step toward delivering transparent, efficient and technology-driven services to consumers in the Kala Amb subdivision of Sirmaur district. The department has begun replacing outdated electromechanical meters with advanced smart meters at a rapid pace.
Assistant Engineer of the Electrical Sub-Division Kala Amb, Mahesh Chaudhary, said the installation work was being carried out under the supervision of the departmental Junior Engineer (JE). Consumers have been urged to cooperate with officials to ensure smooth and uninterrupted completion of the project.
The adoption of smart meters is expected to benefit both consumers and the overall power supply system. These meters support static billing, real-time data availability, theft detection, remote disconnection and reconnection features and energy conservation.
Additionally, the department has issued an appeal to consumers who have outstanding electricity bills to make timely payments.
The initiative marks a transformative phase in the way electricity is monitored and billed, and it promises a more reliable and user-friendly experience for power consumers in the region.
