Jalandhar admn procures DGPS for mining site demarcation
In a move aimed at ensuring prompt and accurate demarcation of mining sites across the district, the Jalandhar District Administration has procured a new Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS).
Chairing a review meeting, Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal took stock of various ongoing development projects being executed under multiple schemes. He directed officials from different departments to submit Utilisation Certificates for the completed projects and reiterated the Punjab Government’s commitment to providing top-class facilities in the district. He also announced that a slew of new development initiatives would be launched in the coming days.
Key projects under review included the upgradation of the drug de-addiction and rehabilitation centre, construction of Dhogri road, setting up of a cricket beat box at BMC Chowk, development of new roads and establishment of new libraries in Government schools, among others.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasised that these projects must be completed within the stipulated timeframe. He also called for new proposals and assured that there was no shortage of funds for development initiatives in the district.
Dr Aggarwal stressed the importance of close monitoring by senior officials and directed concerned officers to personally oversee the progress of each project to ensure timely and efficient completion.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Jalandhar Administration has also begun construction of model playgrounds in all villages of the district as part of its efforts to promote sports culture at the grassroots level.
