Kapurthala boy to take part in Earth Science Olympiad in China
Charuvrat Bains, a student from Kapurthala, has achieved a remarkable feat by earning the honour of representing India at the 18th International Earth Science Olympiad 2025 to be held in China. After a rigorous selection process, only four students from across the country were chosen for this prestigious Olympiad. They will proudly carry Tricolour to Jining city, China, where the international event will take place from August 7 to 17.
Charuvrat Bains, a student of MGN School, is the son of Punjab Civil Services officer Lal Vishwas Bains and Assistant Professor at NIT, Jalandhar, Sheetal Soda.
Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal on Friday honoured Charuvrat with a certificate of appreciation, describing his achievement as a matter of pride not only for Kapurthala, but also for the state. He stated that it was a moment of proud that a student from a small city like Kapurthala will represent the country at the international stage. He added that this accomplishment would inspire many others.
Charuvrat Bains cleared the All-India Entrance Test for the Indian National Earth Science Olympiad 2025 and underwent training at Savitribai Phule Pune University from May 9 to June 2. During this training, he was selected among the top four students from across the country to represent India.
Prior to the international event, Charuvrat will participate in a training camp at Anna University, Chennai, from July 28 to August 5 to prepare for representing the country.
