The Tamil Nadu School Education Department has officially released the academic calendar for the 2025–26 school year, detailing exam schedules, holidays, and new learning initiatives for students across the state.

New Curriculum & Co-Curricular Enhancements
Alongside the exam calendar, the department has also introduced several educational reforms aimed at holistic development: Two sports classes per week will be made compulsory in all schools. “Easy English” and “Fun with Maths” will be newly introduced for students from Classes 1 to 5.
Moral instruction classes will also be included in the timetable. Students will receive exposure to a range of extracurricular activities, including: Higher education guidance, Health and environment clubs, Singing and dance sessions.
Working Days & Weekly Schedule
The total number of working days for the academic year is 210, with all Saturdays and Sundays declared as holidays.
