Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a significant multi-nation tour aimed at strengthening India’s bilateral relations and expanding its strategic outreach to the European Union and the Mediterranean region. His first stop is Cyprus, where he is scheduled to arrive today as part of his visit from June 15–16. This marks a crucial step in India’s engagement with the Mediterranean, as Cyprus plays a key role in regional diplomacy and EU cooperation.Following Cyprus, PM Modi will head to Canada to attend the G7 Summit, marking his sixth participation in this global forum. During the G7 Summit on June 16–17, the Prime Minister will engage in high-level meetings with global leaders, including a bilateral meeting with the Canadian Prime Minister, who has extended an official invitation. These discussions are expected to cover pressing global issues such as climate change, economic recovery, and international security.In addition to the G7 engagements, PM Modi is also set to hold bilateral meetings with leaders of various G7 and non-G7 nations. The visit is being considered highly important for India's foreign policy as it seeks to balance strategic interests, boost trade, and enhance cooperation in areas such as technology, energy, and regional security.
