Boeing Technical Team Begins Probe Into Ahmedabad Plane Crash, DNA Matches Confirm 11 Victims
A high-level investigation is underway into the devastating plane crash that occurred in Ahmedabad, with Boeing’s technical team now on-site to examine the crash location. The aircraft involved was a Boeing 787, prompting Boeing to dispatch its experts to work alongside Indian authorities. Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sangh is also overseeing the investigation personally. The cause of the crash remains unclear, but multiple agencies—including India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau, DGCA, and international bodies like the UK’s AAIB and the US NTSB—are collaborating on the probe.So far, DNA matching of the victims has identified 11 out of the many deceased. Authorities have collected DNA samples from 233 families. Compensation of ₹25 lakh per victim and an additional ₹1 crore to families has been announced by Air India. Disturbing footage of the crash, recorded by a student named Aryan, has raised questions, but he has clarified that he was filming the take-off casually.In response, the government has ordered rigorous pre-flight inspections for all Boeing 787 aircraft, focusing on engine systems, fuel parameters, and control components. The Civil Aviation Ministry has also formed a high-level expert committee to submit a comprehensive report within three months.
