Illegal immigrant from Gujarat jailed in US for $1.79 million elderly fraud scam

Pranav Patel, an illegal immigrant from New Jersey, has been sentenced to over six years in federal prison for his role in a large-scale elder fraud and money laundering scheme. Patel, 33, collected money and gold from elderly victims across the East Coast, who were deceived by callers posing as government officials.
