Israel-Iran conflict to be ended soon, just like 'India and Pakistan': US President Donald Trump

US President Donald Trump on Sunday claimed that he would be ending the Israel-Iran conflict soon by leveraging trade deals with the two nations. He even claimed that it would be “just like I got India and Pakistan” to agree to a ceasefire, a claim that India has long denied.

The 88-hour conflict between India and Pakistan saw India attack critical terrorist infrastructure, which New Delhi claimed was a response to Pakistani aggression after Operation Sindoor, and Islamabad's drone and missile attacks on Indian soil, most of which were intercepted.

According to Trump, trade had also been at the forefront of America's efforts to stop the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which fell through, as the two nations continue battling it out with drones and missiles, amid prisoner exchanges and Ukraine's daring Operation Spider Web.

“We will have PEACE, soon, between Israel and Iran! Many calls and meetings now taking place,” he said, stating 'Make the Middle East great again', a slogan widely associated with his administration in America.

He also cited examples of conflicts between Serbia and Kosovo, and Egypt and Ethiopia, claiming to have had a role in stopping them over his two terms in office.

The two nations exchanged fresh fire overnight into Sunday, with US ally Israel's death toll at 13. The conflict escalated following Tel Aviv's attacks, codenamed Operation 'Rising Lion', that saw the deaths of more than 20 military commanders and nuclear scientists in Iran.

Tehran, has, in turn, reported that 78 people were killed, as of Friday, with many more feared dead, especially in a single attack that killed 60 on Saturday, which razed a 14-storey apartment block to the ground.

While Trump has urged Iran to enter nuclear disarmament talks in Oman, which have now been cancelled for the time being, he has strongly warned Tehran of retribution if it were to attack the US.

Tel Aviv still has a long list of Iranian targets, and has declined to say how long the Operation Rising Lion would continue, an Israeli official stated, as per a Reuters report.
