At Rewari, CM Saini inaugurates, lays stone of 15 projects worth Rs 288 crore
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 15 development projects worth Rs 288.31 crore for Rewari Assembly constituency on Sunday. He inaugurated eight projects worth Rs 193.94 crore and laid the foundation of seven projects amounting to Rs 94.37 crore.
Later, the CM addressed the thanksgiving rally organised by Rewari MLA Laxman Singh Yadav, describing Rewari as the land of brave soldiers. “The people of this region not only voted for a double-engine government a few months ago, but also added a third engine — ensuring development at triple the speed,” he remarked.
Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh, his daughter and Health Minister Arti Rao, Jail Minister Dr Arvind Sharma, MLA from Tijara (Rajasthan) Mahant Balaknath, other MLAs Anil Yadav, Dr Krishan Kumar, OP Yadav, Bimla Chaudhary were among those present on the occasion.
The CM announced the construction of a library, new buildings of Rewari Municipal Council, office of market committee, Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary School in Kakoria and the office of the Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer, repair of various roads, upgrade of urban health centre in Dharuhera to a primary health centre.
The CM assured that Rewari’s development would now progress at triple the pace. “Over the past 10 years, a total of 305 announcements have been made for Rewari district. Of these, 167 have been fulfilled, and work is underway on 18,” he added.
Saini claimed that over the past 10 years, Haryana had developed a unique model of good governance and service. This had curbed corruption and ensured that government schemes and services reach the actual beneficiaries. He emphasised the state government’s commitment to balanced development across all regions of Haryana.
Earlier, Rao Inderjit Singh, while speaking on the occasion, strongly raised several key issues.
He emphasised that the people of Rewari and neighbouring districts like Gurugram and Mahendragarh had wholeheartedly contributed to the formation of the BJP government for the third time and it was now the Chief Minister’s responsibility to reciprocate with equal commitment to the region’s development.
Referring to the problem of waterlogging and contaminated water, Rao said industrial wastewater entering from the Rajasthan border into the Masani barrage area was affecting the local environment and groundwater sources.
Rao took a dig at Baba Balaknath present on the dais over his alleged attempt to dismantle a ramp built in Dharuhera town to block polluted water flowing in from Rajasthan. “The people of Dharuhera are forced to live in unbearable conditions due to waterlogging caused by industrial waste from Bhiwadi. The national highway frequently gets flooded. That ramp was built after considerable effort to protect the area and we will not tolerate any attempt to dismantle it or any interference by Baba Balaknath — under any circumstances,” he asserted.
Rao also highlighted concerns around infrastructure related to the AIIMS project in Majra-Bhalkhi village.
“There is a railway track between AIIMS and the national highway. While a flyover or railway over-bridge (ROB) would offer a more effective long-term solution to connect AIIMS with the highway, officials have opted for a cheaper underpass to reduce costs. The underpass will be prone to waterlogging during the monsoon and will not serve the intended purpose. That is why we are demanding a flyover at that location,” Rao asserted.
He warned that if officials realise the need for an ROB five years later, the cost would have doubled. He urged the CM to intervene and review the project to ensure long-term viability.
Over the Masani Barrage issue, the CM disclosed that the government has prepared a comprehensive plan. “Under this plan, sewage treatment plants will be installed to purify the water before releasing it into the barrage, making it usable for agriculture,” he added.
