IN PICS: BEST Bus Stuck After Road Collapses In Mumbai's Girgaon Area
A road collapsed close to the Girgaon Metro station during the rains on Monday morning in South Mumbai's Girgaon region.
The event occurred close to the metro station that is currently under construction and is anticipated to be available for public use in approximately two months.
A BEST bus was said to be trapped in the hole created by the cave-in event. Footage of the event has appeared online.
The video shows the back tyre of the BEST bus trapped in the part of the road that has collapsed. The car is slightly angled on the street, and barriers are placed around it to avoid harm to other vehicles.
The conductor and the bus driver are observed standing close to the bus. As of now, there are no verified reports of injuries to anyone involved in the incident.
The road collapse occurs during persistent rain in various areas of the city.
IMD has issued a caution forecasting significant rain for Mumbai and the nearby MMR area in the coming hours. The Konkan region is currently under a red alert.
