Earthquake tremors felt in Iran near nuclear power plant, Israel had…, Pakistan too…

New Delhi: There is a war going on between Iran and Israel. Both the countries have carried out many drone and missile attacks against each other so far. Meanwhile, another shocking news has come from Iran. Earthquake tremors were felt in Iran on Monday, 16 June 2025 morning. According to a report, the earthquake occurred near a nuclear power plant. Due to this, people are terrified.

Earthquakes have occurred in many places in Iran in the last one week. According to a news from Times Now, earthquake tremors were felt in the city of Qom in Iran which measured 2.5 on the Richter scale. Fordo Nuclear Power Plant is also close to this nuclear power plant. Before Iran, there was an earthquake in Pakistan. An earthquake of 4.3 magnitude occurred in the south-eastern province of Sistan and Balochistan.

Israel’s operation against Iran

Israel started ‘Operation Rising Lion’ on Friday, June 13 morning, in which Iran’s nuclear, missile and military bases were targeted. Later, Iran launched retaliatory attacks on Israel. This has raised the possibility of a more vigorous attack on Israel from Iran as some of Iran’s missiles have succeeded in penetrating Israel’s air defense system and targeting buildings in the middle of the country.

Israel attacked to destroy nuclear plants

In a separate incident, four people were killed in the northern Arab Israeli city of Tamra, 27 kilometers (17 miles) from Haifa, on Sunday, June 15 hours after a ballistic missile scored a direct hit on a house there. It brought the death toll to 14 since Israel launched the campaign. Israel says the campaign aims to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear capability and thwart its missile development program.

Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office responded after Iran’s retaliation. A statement issued quoting Benjamin Netanyahu said, “Iran will have to pay a very heavy price for the killing of civilians – women, children – which it has deliberately carried out. We will achieve our objectives, and we will attack them with full force.”
