UPSC Mains 2025: 8 Key Steps For Successful Registration
Registration Dates: The UPSC Mains 2025 registration window opens on June 16, 2025, and closes on June 25, 2025. All applications must be submitted by 6:00 PM on the last day.
Who Can Register: Only candidates who have qualified the UPSC Prelims 2025 (held on May 25, 2025) are eligible to register for the Mains. This year, 14,161 candidates have qualified for the Mains stage.
Application Process: Candidates must log in to the official UPSC website (upsconline.nic.in or upsc.gov.in) using their One-Time Registration (OTR) credentials and fill out the Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I).
Required Documents: Applicants must upload essential documents, including educational certificates, photo, signature, and valid ID proof. If the name on the application differs from certificates, legal proof of name change is required.
Application Fee: A registration fee of ₹200 applies. Female candidates, SC, ST, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are exempted from paying the fee.
Admit Card Release: E-Admit cards for the Mains exam will be available for download from the UPSC website approximately two weeks before the exam date. A printed copy is mandatory for entry to the exam hall.
Exam Schedule: UPSC Mains 2025 will begin on August 22, 2025, and will be conducted over five days.
