Navi Mumbai News: Rally Planned On June 24 To Demand NMIA Be Named After Loknete D.B. Patil

The demand to officially name the Navi Mumbai International Airport after the late Loknete D.B. Patil has gathered fresh momentum as the All-Party Action Committee announced plans for a massive car and bike rally on June 24, 2025, to mark Patil’s 12th death anniversary.

All state-level formalities regarding the naming proposal have been completed, and the matter currently awaits approval from the Central Government, which has indicated a positive stance on the issue. With news reports suggesting that the airport’s operations may soon commence, local excitement about the naming decision is at its peak.

In view of this, citizens and project-affected families from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Raigad, Thane, Palghar, and Nashik districts have been called upon to participate in the rally. The organizers believe that this collective show of support will help accelerate the government’s decision-making process.

To finalize the preparations, a planning meeting has been scheduled for June 17, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Shetkari Samaj Mandir Hall, Sector 5, Koparkhairane. The Loknete D.B. Patil Navi Mumbai International Airport Naming All-Party Action Committee has appealed to all coastal community members and supporters to actively participate in this session.

The rally aims to serve as both a tribute to the late leader and a public demonstration urging the government to officially declare the airport's name without further delay.
