Pune Crime: Locked Flat In Hadapsar Burgled, Thieves Steal Cash & Jewellery Worth ₹38.8 Lakh
A major burglary incident was reported in Pune's Hadapsar, where unidentified thieves broke the apartment lock and stole ₹55,000 in cash and jewellery worth approximately ₹38.88 lakh.
The incident took place in an apartment situated near Sejal Garden, Hadapsar, on Saturday morning around 10am.
According to the police, a 40-year-old woman, a resident of the flat, filed a police complaint regarding the matter. She was heading towards her village in Solapur on Saturday. Before leaving, she locked her home.
During her absence, the accused reportedly broke the main door lock using a tool, gained entry into the house, and looted ₹55,000 in cash, along with gold and diamond jewellery valued at around ₹38.88 lakh.
Sanjay Mogale, Senior Police Inspector of Hadapsar Police Station, speaking to The Free Press Journal, said the victim left her house in the early hours, but the theft took place around 10am. "It is possible that the culprits had done a recce and were aware of the entry and exit points in the society. We are analysing CCTV footage from the surrounding areas. The accused will be arrested soon," he said.
In this regard, a case has been registered at Hadapsar Police Station under Sections 331(3) and 305 of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita.
