G7 Summit 2025: Hundreds Of Khalistani Extremists Gather In Calgary To 'Ambush' PM Modi During Canada Visit (VIDEO)
Alberta (Canada), June 16: As world leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will gather in Canada's Alberta for the G7 Summit, protests and tensions have drawn international attention. Hundreds of Khalistani extremists have gathered in Alberta to protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the event. Videos have surfaced on social media showing massive convoy on its way to protest PM Modi's visit at the G7 Summit 2025. PM Modi is has left Cyprus and will reach Canada today.
Khalistani Protests
Ahead of PM Modi’s visit, a group of Khalistani supporters in Calgary launched strong anti-Modi demonstrations. One of the protest leaders, Manjinder Singh, made aggressive statements, saying he was ready to “ambush Modi” and “kill India's PM Modi’s politics.” The protests were organised by Sikhs for Justice, a group that openly glorifies the assassins of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. It us a US-based organisation founded by Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun.
Sikh Leaders and Journalists Denounce Extremism
However, not all Sikh voices are supporting these protests. Jasdip Singh Jesse who is the founder of Sikhs of America strongly condemned the Khalistani demonstrations. He welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit and Canada’s invitation as a positive step toward international unity. Singh also said he believes that under Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, the influence of extremist groups like Khalistanis will decline.
Harpreet Singh, a Canada-based journalist, echoed similar thoughts. He stressed that the summit is a chance for Canada and India to repair ties that had weakened during former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's term.
'Kill Modi Politics In Canada?'
Former Indian Foreign Secretary Kanwal Sibal said, "It is unacceptable that such elements in Canada should be allowed to target the Indian PM. Such laxity is condemnable. What does “kill Modi politics” mean? It is a call to physically kill but to avoid being accused of threatening the life of the Indian PM and attracting legal action the word “ politics” is added. How do you “kill Modi politics” in Canada? The slogan is intrinsically absurd. India- Canada ties can’t improve unless the government cleans up these criminal elements."
Protests in Calgary on G7 Summit Day 1
On Sunday, the first day of the three-day summit, nearly 500 protesters gathered at Calgary’s Municipal Plaza. People from various communities including, Kashmiri, Palestinian, Ukrainian and Indigenous groups raised concerns about global issues including sovereignty, human rights and water security.
While most protests were peaceful, some disrupted traffic and emergency services, prompting police to review the situation and consider further actions if needed.
Tight Security Measures in Place
Canadian security agencies, including the RCMP and Calgary Police, have declared this the largest domestic security operation in the country. Special protest zones were set up around Calgary and Banff to ensure safety for both protesters and the public.
