Actress Alia Bhatt, who is all set to move into her new home in Bandra with Ranbir Kapoor and Raha Kapoor, has been making headlines for her recent video. While it’s well known that Alia made her debut at the Cannes Film Festival 2025, what came as a surprise is that she changed her name from Alia Bhatt to Alia Kapoor at the event.

Some time ago, Bhatt had expressed her desire to add ‘Kapoor’ to her surname after marriage. The video shared on Alia’s YouTube channel shows a welcome note written in her hotel room. She was welcomed in the hotel as ‘Dear Alia Kapoor’. Since then, people have been speculating that the actress has changed her surname in her official documents as well.

Netizens were quick to recognise the change of surname in Alia’s video. One of the users wrote, “Alia Bhatt is a brand but Alia Kapoor…..it’s an emotion”. Another wrote, “How will a hotel in France know her husband’s surname?”. The third user said, “She might have booked her room with the Kapoor surname”.

Talking about her professional side, Alia Bhatt will be seen in the action thriller ‘Alpha’, directed by Shiv Rawail. This is the seventh film in the YRF spy universe. The movie will also feature Sharvari in the leading role.

Alia also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s romance drama ‘Love and War’, which will release on March 20, 2026. The film also features Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal as leads.
