Madhya Pradesh: Police Warn Women, Students About Luxury Life Trap On Social Media; Victims Drugged, Filmed And Blackmailed After Being Trapped

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Madhya Pradesh State Cyber Police have issued an advisory urging college girls, school-going students and working women to stay alert against cyber fraudsters who flaunt a luxurious lifestyle on social media to lure, exploit and blackmail them.

Officials on Monday said several recent complaints revealed a disturbing pattern where victims were drawn in by promises of a lavish lifestyle. The accused allegedly built trust by posing as wealthy, helpful people and spending generously, only to later manipulate and exploit victims.

In many cases, the accused took women to luxury hotels, dhabas or isolated locations, where they allegedly forced them into substance abuse, recorded obscene videos and later used the material for blackmail.

The advisory warns that once a victim is trapped, fraudsters often pressure them to bring friends, who then face similar exploitation. In extreme cases, the victims were reportedly coerced into religious conversion and forced marriage.

Authorities have urged women not to meet strangers in isolated places and to thoroughly verify anyone before accepting any relationship proposal. Most importantly, if they fall into such a trap, victims should immediately approach the nearest police station without fear or hesitation.
