Gauri Khan’s Torii has a ‘secret door’ for Shah Rukh Khan’s family; AbRam’s go-to order is…, SRK’s favourite dish is…
When you’re part of Bollywood royalty, glitz and glamour come with an unavoidable spotlight — and sometimes, the desperate need to escape it. That’s where Gauri Khan’s much-buzzed-about Mumbai restaurant Torii offers more than just its upscale Japanese-Asian cuisine. It hides something else too — a secret.
Gauri Khan’s Torii has a secret door
In an exclusive interview with The Indian Express, Torii’s head chef Stefan Gadit confirmed a long-speculated rumour: the restaurant indeed has a secret entryway. But don’t expect to waltz through it unless your last name is Khan.
“Not everybody has access to the secret doorway — it’s for the Khans,” Gadit revealed.
The discreet entrance offers the Khan family — Shah Rukh, Gauri, and their children Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam — a rare escape from paparazzi, letting them enjoy meals without a media frenzy.
Head chef reveals AbRam’s go-to order, Shah Rukh’s fave dish
The Khan family doesn’t just step in quietly — they have their favourites firmly marked on the menu. According to Gadit, AbRam is especially fond of Torii’s sushi, and often places orders even when he can’t visit. Suhana, too, has been spotted enjoying evenings at the restaurant with her friends.
Aryan Khan, while more low-key, is said to be a regular as well. The family’s collective presence is so natural at the venue, it even served as the celebration spot for Shah Rukh Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani’s anniversary.
As for King Khan himself? He’s not immune to Torii’s charm either. “Shah Rukh has enjoyed the lamb chops we serve here — that’s his usual order,” Gadit shared.
A hotspot for the Bollywood elite
With its moody interiors, sleek design (helmed by Gauri herself), and now a secret door straight out of a movie plot, Torii has become more than just another celebrity-owned restaurant — it’s a hideaway. It’s even made cameo appearances in Netflix’s Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.
In a city where the cameras rarely stop clicking, the Khans have carved out a quiet luxury — a place to dine, unwind, and do it all away from the noise.
