‘Assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’, Netanyahu’s single point solution to stop Iran Israel war, Trump had earlier…
New Delhi: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in an interview that the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will end the ongoing war and tension between the two countries. He claimed that Israel’s military action is not to promote the conflict, but to end it.
Before this statement of PM Netanyahu, there were reports that US President Donald Trump had rejected Israel’s plan which talked about targeting Iran’s supreme leader. Trump stopped this move considering it a threat of escalating the war.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in an X post, “If President Trump really wants diplomacy and is interested in stopping this war, then the next steps will be important. Israel must stop its military action immediately, otherwise our response will continue. Just one phone call can pressurize Netanyahu, which can open the way for diplomacy.”
According to a Reuters report, Iran has urged Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Oman to put pressure on Trump so that he can pressure Israel for a ceasefire. In return, Iran can adopt some flexibility in nuclear talks.
Addressing his army personnel, Netanyahu said that Israel is moving towards two main goals: ending Iran’s nuclear program and destroying its missile systems. He said, “We are moving towards victory. We are telling the citizens of Tehran, ‘Get out of here,’ and we are taking concrete action.”
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said on Monday, 16 June that Iran cannot win the ongoing conflict with Israel and should return to talks before it is too late. Trump made this statement at the G7 meeting going on in Canada.
According to Reuters and CBS News, it has been learnt that Trump has refused to sign the G7 statement. This statement appeals to reduce tensions between Iran and Israel and maintain stability in West Asia.
