Bhopal: Inter-District Vehicle Theft Gang Busted, 7 Held; Goods Worth ₹7.5 Lakh Recovered

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Kohefiza and Shahjahanabad police on Monday jointly arrested seven persons involved in vehicle theft. Stolen vehicles and parts worth Rs 7.5 lakh were recovered.

According to the police reports, the action was initiated following a complaint by Sanjana Verma, whose two-wheeler was stolen from Nayapura on the night of May 20. A case was registered, and a special team was formed to trace the culprits.

Acting on intelligence inputs, police arrested Arshan Khan (19) and Naved Khan (24), who revealed the names of accomplices Sahil (23), Imran (22), Salman (28), Sajjad (37) and Haider (32), all residents of Bhopal. All are educated and technically skilled, with some even forging registration documents using RTO data.

The gang operated by stealing two-wheelers and selling them in parts through a mechanic shop run by Naved. They also attempted to resell whole vehicles using fake registration cards.

The seized items include 8 stolen vehicles mostly Suzuki access scooters and parts from 3 dismantled bikes. Tools used in the crimes including vehicle-cutting machines were also confiscated.
