Iran Israel War: The ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran are escalating with every day. US President Donald Trump on Monday urged Iranians to evacuate Tehran, citing what he said was the country’s rejection of a deal to curb nuclear weapons development. “Iran should have signed the ‘deal’ I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social media platform. Meanwhile, China has now entered the scene. China has stated that it has spoken to both nations and urged them to resolve the issue.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Kuo Chia-kun, while addressing the media, said that China has urged all parties to take immediate steps to de-escalate tensions, prevent the region from descending into further turmoil, and create conditions for returning to the right path of resolving issues through dialogue and negotiation.
He emphasized that if the tensions between Israel and Iran continue to escalate, than the countries in the Middle East will be the first to suffer. He stated that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi had called Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, urging both sides to resolve their differences through dialogue. Both parties should take immediate steps to prevent the conflict from escalating and to reduce tensions.
Peace cannot be achieved through war – Kuo Chia-kun
The use of force cannot achieve long lasting peace, Kuo Chia-kun said on the ongoing war between Israel and Iran. Any international dispute should be resolved through dialogue and consultation. Only by adhering to the concept of common security can the legitimate concerns of all parties be fully addressed. China will continue to maintain communication with the relevant parties, promote peace, encourage dialogue, and work to prevent further turmoil in the region.
