At least 7 international flights cancelled
On Tuesday, at least seven international flights going from Delhi and Mumbai were cancelled. Its effect was also seen on some other flights. A San Francisco-Mumbai flight was stuck in Kolkata over the weekend. A Hong Kong-Delhi Dreamliner returned soon after takeoff. There was a possibility of a technical fault in it. On Tuesday afternoon, flight AI159 from Ahmedabad to London was also cancelled. This flight was started after AI171 was cancelled.
IndiGo flight also affected
Meanwhile, an international flight of IndiGo is also reported to be affected. IndiGo flight number 6E 2706 was coming from Muscat to Delhi. It has been diverted to Nagpur.
What does Air India have to say
Air India spokesperson issued a statement here saying, “Today’s AI159 flight from Ahmedabad to Gatwick, London has been cancelled.” The airline said that the aircraft was not available for this flight. The reason for this was restrictions in some airspace. The inspection of the aircraft is also taking more time. Hence, there was a delay in preparing the aircraft. The company also said that there was no technical fault in the aircraft, as some people were saying.

Expressed regret
Air India spokesperson said, “We regret the inconvenience caused to the passengers. We have made other arrangements to take them to their destination. We are providing hotel accommodation. If the passenger wants, he can get a full refund on cancelling the ticket or change his travel date without any charge. Due to this, flight AI170 from London Gatwick to Amritsar on June 17 has also been cancelled.”
