'Goons Tried To Kill Us': Actress Ramya Sri, Brother Attacked With Knife & Bat By 'Land-Grabbers' In Hyderabad (VIDEO)

In a shocking incident that unfolded in broad daylight near Hyderabad's Gachibowli Police Station, actress Ramya Sri and her brother Prashant were allegedly attacked by land-grabbers wielding a knife and a cricket bat. The incident occurred on Tuesday (June 17) in the FCI Colony layout, where Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) officials were marking roads in the presence of plot owners.

The situation turned violent when a group of men, allegedly followers of Sandhya Convention Hall owner Sridhar Rao, objected to plot owners filming the road marking process.

According to Telugu Scribe, the attackers reportedly targetted several people and assaulted actress Ramya Sri and her brother, who sustained injuries.

Following the attack, the actress and her brother filed a complaint with Gachibowli Police. Speaking to the media, Ramya Sri expressed her distress and disbelief. "Goons tried to kill us in broad daylight, that too right in front of the police station," she said.

In the video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) by Telugu Scribe, the actress is seen sharing her ordeal.

Ramya Sri, who owns a plot in the area, accused Sridhar Rao and his associates of intimidation and illegal encroachment. She urged the authorities to take immediate action and put an end to his alleged criminal activities.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.

Ramya Sri has appeared in several Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi and Bhojpuri films. She made her acting debut in 1997 and starred in Amitabh Bachchan's 1999 film Sooryavansham.
