J&K Deaf Athletes selected for National Sports C’ships

JAMMU, June 17: The All Jammu and Kashmir Sports Association of the Deaf, has announced its selected team for the 10th National Deaf Sub Junior & Junior and 27th National Deaf Senior Sports Championship 2025, scheduled to be held in Kanpur.
A screening and selection session was held today at M.A. Stadium, Jammu, under the supervision of key officials from the Sports Council, including Satpal Singh, Divisional Sports Officer Jammu; Suraj Bhan Singh, Judo Coach and team coach; Jagandeep Singh, Physiotherapist; and Arshi Nad, In-Charge Manager, Old Indoor Complex (Observer). Suraj Bhan Singh has been instrumental in training these athletes and shaping their competitive edge.
The following athletes were selected in the Judo discipline: Men: Rohit Kumar (60 kg), Rakesh Singh (66 kg), Vishal Khajuria (73 kg), Nabeel Ahmed Dar (81 kg), Ajaz Ahmed (90 kg) and Gulshan Kumar Sharma (-100 kg). Women: Nidha Ul Nisa (48 kg), Shikha Kumari (52 kg), Garima Misri (57 kg), Sonam Chib (70 kg) and Rakhshinda Mehak (-78 kg).
