'Shadi Ke Baad...': Raja-Sonam Raghvanshi Made These Vows During Wedding Reception (VIDEO)
Indore: A video from Raja Raghuvanshi and Sonam's wedding reception is going viral on social media, showing the couple holding each other's hands and standing with smiling faces on the stage, repeating playful vows just days before Sonam conspired to have her husband's killed.
In the video, an anchor is seen posing playful vows to the couple and asking them to repeat it. The anchor asked Raja to vow, "Main, Raja, yeh vachan deta hoon, ki shaadi ke baad, roz subah sabse Pehle main uthunga, adrak wali chai banauga, and fir apne wife ko uthaunga." (I, Raja, vow that after marriage, every morning I will wake up first, make ginger tea, and then wake up my wife.) Raja laugingly admitted he didn't know how to make tea, but he would wake up Sonam every day.
In his second vow, Raja said, "Main Raja yeh vachan deta hoon ki shaadi ke baad apni wife ko har mahine shopping pe leke jaunga." (I, Raja, vow that after marriage, I will take my wife for shopping every month.) Raja promptly agreed to this.
In his third vow, Raja said, "Main Raja yeh vachan deta hoon ki shaadi ke baad main apni wife ko saal mein ek baar world tour pe le ke jaunga." (I, Raja, vow that after marriage, I will take my wife on a world tour once a year.) Raja laughingly agreed.
Then the anchor turned towards Sonam and asked her to agree to a single vow: "Main Sonam yeh wachan deti hoon ki Raja shaadi ke baad yeh apne doston ke saath kahin bhi jaaye, kahin bhi party karein, kahin bhi muh kaala karein, main kabhi yeh nahi kahungi ki kahaan the." (I, Sonam, vow that after marriage, wherever Raja goes with his friends, wherever he parties, wherever he might bring disrepute, I will never ask where he was.)
Sonam laughingly denied to repeat the vows, when asked to say, 'Wherever he parties' but repeated after the anchor insisted her to repeat. She then denied repeating, "From wherever he might bring disrepute, I will never ask where he was," rather, she said, "I will ask."
The anchor, then jokingly remarked, "Raja bhai, tum toh gaye" (Raja, brother, you are gone), The couple then came closer for a final joint vow: "The two of us jointly vow that after the wedding, we'll create an IPL team of children."
Sonam and Raja got married on May 11 in Indore and headed to Meghalaya for their honeymoon. On May 23, the couple checked out of a homestay in Nongriat village, East Khasi Hills, and then disappeared.
On June 2, Raja's body was found in a 200-foot-deep gorge, approximately 20 km from where the couple were last seen. Post-mortem reports revealed Raja had suffered two fatal blows from a sharp weapon – one from the front and one from behind.
On June 8, Sonam surrendered at a police station in Ghazipur, her lover and three contract killers were arrested.
