BJP national secretary praises Modi, accuses Congress of promoting graft
BJP national secretary Om Prakash Dhankhar on Tuesday highlighted achievements of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government over the past 11 years. He also criticised the Congress for “promoting dynastic, regional politics and corrupt practices”.
He claimed that, during the Congress’ tenure, the nation was plagued by communal riots and a pervasive sense of fear among citizens, especially due to Hindu-Muslim tensions. “People didn’t feel safe. But after 2014, under Modi’s leadership, the country has become more secure, and our borders are now well-protected,” he claimed.
Dhankhar was addressing a training session held in Jhajjar to prepare for upcoming the mohalla and panchayat-level public meetings.
The session was attended by mandal presidents, general secretaries, coordinators, co-coordinators, Shakti Kendra heads, and party spokespersons.
He listed major reforms carried out over the past 11 years, including the abrogation of Article 370 in pertinence to Jammu and Kashmir, the abolition of triple talaq, the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), and the passing of the Waqf Act amendment.
He said India’s foreign policy now reflected its rich cultural identity and strength.
Dhankhar said financial aid was being directly transferred to farmers’ bank accounts, and they were receiving fair prices for their produce. Agriculture and animal husbandry were being made risk-free, he added.
He said, today, governance under PM Modi was responsive, responsible, accountable and reform-oriented.
“This is a government that performs and transforms, with public participation at its core,” he said.
He accused the previous Congress-led governments of promoting corruption, appeasement, and scams.
