Karra heads Block presidents’ meet, discusses upcoming progs

SRINAGAR, June 18: J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president Tariq Hameed Karra, who was busy with Block president’s meetings since Tuesday, presided over the final phase of the meeting at Srinagar party office today.
Block heads of the party from South, Central and North Kashmir had detailed discussions with the JKPCC chief and briefed him about the ongoing organizational affairs and activities at grass root level, in their respective blocks.
The meetings threadbare discussed the upcoming challenges especially ULB, DDC & BDC elections while resolving to strengthen party ranks further at all levels. Block president’s present in the meeting also briefed Karra about the current developmental political situation in their respective blocks, assuring him (President) that they will put in their strenuous efforts to invigorate the party.
Speaking on the occasion, Karra said that Block presidents are the backbone of the party, they are mandated to play a crucial role in rejuvenating the party at grass roots and urged them to work hard to be capable to overcome the challenges be it the upcoming elections or be it the organizational or be it the political challenges. They are required to play a pivotal role on the ground and get connected with the common people to identify their needs for their timely resolution, Karra added and stressed the need to enlighten the public about Congress party’s pro people policies & programmes and seek their full support to further strengthen the party.
JKPCC president informed the Block presidents about the importance of Mission Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq and said that Congress party in the upcoming district level political conventions will strongly reiterate its demand for restoration of Statehood to J&K.
Karra also held meeting with senior leaders, Legislators, District presidents of Kashmir region including Frontal organizations heads, State and District heads and office bearers urging them (leaders) to make the upcoming district level conventions in Kashmir successful, which are set to commence from June 21 from Srinagar District.
CLP leader and AICC general secretary Ghulam Ahmad Mir was present in the meeting and highlighted the significance of district level political conventions. The CLP leader urged that political activities in all the district must get impetus with involvement of all seniors and juniors including frontal organizations, as that will boost the morale of party cadres, who are involved in party activities at grass roots.
Senior leaders Haji Abdul Rashid Dar, Bashir Ahmad Magrey, Surinder Singh Channi, Legislators Nizam- Ud-Din Bhat, Irfan Hafeez Lone, Mahila president Shameema Raina, GSO Abid Imtiyaz Bhat, Ali Mohd Mantoo, Mohd Iqbal Mir, Dr Audil Farooq Mir and others also participated in the meeting.
