Pre-Monsoon Rain Disasters In Gwalior: 2 Injured After Tree Falls On Car, Old House Crumbles Down In Separate Incident

Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Two people were injured on Thursday when a large tree suddenly fell on a moving car and a bike in Gwalior.

The accident occurred at Achleshwar Chauraha during pre-monsoon rain.

According to information, the injured include Anish Saxena, a bank employee driving the car, and Abhishek Srivastava, a hospital staffer riding the bike.

Both were on their way for work when the tree came crashing down. They were immediately taken to a private hospital for treatment.

Locals expressed anger as no municipal official reached the spot for nearly an hour.

They blamed the administration for failing to trim old and weak trees ahead of the rainy season.

MLA Satish Sikarwar arrived later and informed the officials, after which the tree was finally removed.

In a separate incident...

In a separate incident on Thursday, an old and weak house collapsed in the Hazira area of Gwalior due to heavy pre-monsoon rain. Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident.

The sudden collapse raised concerns among residents about the condition of several such old buildings in the city, especially with the monsoon approaching. Locals said the house had been in poor condition for a long time and needed repairs.

The incident once again highlights the urgent need for inspections and safety checks of old structures across the city before the full monsoon sets in.
