New Delhi: Over 9 crore farmers in India are eagerly awaiting the 20th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme, which provides Rs 2,000 every four months as financial aid. With Prime Minister Modi visiting Bihar today, speculations are high that the next payout may be announced soon, though official confirmation is still awaited.
When Will the 20th Installment Come?
Farmers are hopeful that the 20th installment of the scheme might be released today, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Bihar. Many believe he could announce the payment during his event. However, no official announcement has been made by the government yet. According to media reports, the installment may be credited by the end of this month.
Meanwhile, farmers are advised to complete their e-KYC to avoid any payment delays.
How to Get Benefits Under PM-KISAN?
To receive money under the scheme, farmers must register themselves. There are two ways to do this:
Visit the official website pmkisan.gov.in and fill out the online form.
Visit your nearest Common Service Center (CSC) or contact your State Government’s Nodal Officer.

Why is e-KYC Important and How to Do It?
e-KYC is now mandatory for PM-KISAN. Without it, farmers may not receive the next installment.
Here are three ways to complete e-KYC:
1. OTP-Based e-KYC
Go to pmkisan.gov.in
Click on ‘e-KYC’
Enter Aadhaar number and click ‘Search’
Enter the OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number
2. Face Authentication e-KYC
Download two apps from Play Store:
PMKISAN Go - Face Authentication
Aadhaar Face RD App
Open PMKISAN Go app and login with your mobile number or CSC ID
Choose Face Authentication eKYC
Enter your Aadhaar number and click ‘Fetch Details’
Click ‘Capture Face’ and scan your face
If successful, you'll see: "e-KYC Completed Successfully"
Status will update on the portal within 24 hours
3. Biometric e-KYC
Visit your nearest CSC center and do biometric e-KYC
Who is Not Eligible for the Scheme?
While most land-holding farmers can benefit, the following people are excluded:
Current or former constitutional post holders
Elected public representatives (MPs, MLAs, etc.)
Government employees or pensioners with over Rs 10,000 monthly pension
Income tax payers
Professionals such as doctors, engineers, lawyers, CAs, and architects
What is PM Kisan Yojana?
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a central government scheme started on 1 December 2018. Under this scheme, all land-holding farmers receive Rs 6,000 per year. This amount is transferred in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 directly into the farmer’s bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
