Cyclonic circulation is influencing the rainfall
The rainfall is likely due to a cyclonic circulation over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and the adjoining South Andaman Sea. The weather department also stated that, apart from Tamil Nadu, rainfall is likely to occur in other states, including Odisha, Karnataka, West Bengal, Maharashtra, and Telangana. According to the weather department, the cyclone is likely to prevail over other parts of the south Arabian Sea, including Goa, Gujarat, and Karnataka in the upcoming days.
