FIFA Club World Cup: Igor Jesus Poses In Front Of Spectators After Netting Goal vs PSG For Botafogo; Video

Brazillian football club Botafogo's striker Igor Jesus celebration went viral after scoring a goal against Paris St. Germain in the Club World Cup 2025 match at the Rose Bowl Stadium, Pasadena, California. In a video surfaced on social media, Jesus was seen posing in front of the crowd as they seemingly joined in the celebration.

The only goal and the winning one came in the 36th minute as he outsmarted the goalkeeper, who was dumbfounded. Botafogo survived an attacking PSG in the second half to win 1-0, leaving the champion side frustrated by the opposition's defiance and discipline.

PSG had entered the tournament as strong favourites, given their dominant 5-0 win over Inter Milan in the Champions League final but were undone by Botafogo's bravado. A victory would have made the French club the first to qualify for the last 16.

"We had to defend well, and we did our job" - Igor Jesus

Speaking after the game, Jesus said he is ecstatic about shutting the critics, who raised questions about Botafogo's potential. The 24-year-old stated, as quoted by The Economic Times:

"A lot of people had doubts, but we showed how strong Botafogo is. It was tough. We had to defend well, and we did our job. One team is the Champions League winner, the other is South America’s champion. We knew how important it was."
