International Yoga Day: Poses and peace mark day in Jagadhri
Haryana’s Rajya Sabha MP Ram Chander Jangra has said yoga is a way of living a healthy life. He said in today’s materialistic rush, practising yoga was very important, because the greatest happiness was a healthy body, which was achieved through it.
“If your body is healthy, you have the biggest wealth in the world,” said Jangra.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the Yoga Day programme organised at the new grain market in Jagadhri on the occasion of the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations on Saturday.
Before addressing the gathering, he also participated in yoga activities. People present at the programme, heard Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini live through a screen.
The Rajya Sabha MP said at the holy pilgrimage site Kurukshetra, along with the Haryana Chief Minister and Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev made everyone do yoga on the International Yoga Day.
“Baba Ramdev is the one who has brought yoga to the world,” said Jangra. He said the Prime Minister had given this message to the whole country that India was the guide of the world, whether it was in the field of health, education, brotherhood and peace.
He further said India was the largest producer of coarse grains. The Prime Minister told countries of the whole world that coarse grains were most beneficial for the health.
He said Yoga was the basic mantra to become physically, mentally, intellectually and spiritually healthy. “Yoga is a unique example of art, science and philosophy. Yoga has the amazing power to unite the entire humanity. It keeps us connected to our great culture and traditions,” said Jangra.
On the occasion Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta honoured Rajya Sabha MP Ram Chander Jangra, former Cabinet Minister Kanwar Pal Gurjar, BJP district president Rajesh Sapra, former Mayor Madan Chauhan, former Chairperson Rosy Malik Anand and former MLA BL Saini by giving them mementoes.
ADC Naveen Ahuja, IAS under training Suman Yadav, DDPO Narender Singh, DIPR Dr Manoj Kumar, District Ayurvedic Officer Dr Pratibha Bhatia, Dr Shiv Kumar Saini and other officers were also present on the occasion.
