Trump Warns Iran Against Retaliation As UN Raises Alarm After US Strikes

US President Donald Trump on Sunday warned Tehran against retaliation after Washington bombed three nuclear facilities in Iran.

"ANY RETALIATION BY IRAN AGAINST THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WILL BE MET WITH FORCE FAR GREATER THAN WHAT WAS WITNESSED TONIGHT. THANK YOU!  DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES," said Trump in a post on X.

The US carried out precision strikes on three nuclear enrichment sites in Iran on Sunday, Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow.

Meanwhile, the United Nations raised concern over the US strikes as "dangerous escalation" in the region.

United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres called on the Member-States to de-escalate the hostilities and avoid a spiral of chaos.

"I am gravely alarmed by the use of force by the United States against Iran today. This is a dangerous escalation in a region already on the edge – and a direct threat to international peace and security," he said in a post on X.

"There is a growing risk that this conflict could rapidly get out of control – with catastrophic consequences for civilians, the region, and the world," said the UN chief.

"At this perilous hour, it is critical to avoid a spiral of chaos," he added.

"There is no military solution. The only path forward is diplomacy. The only hope is peace," Guterres said.
