PSG Players Unbox Custom Made Los Angeles Lakers Jerseys During Club World Cup 2025; Video

Paris Saint-Germain shared a video on their social media handle of multiple first-team players receiving personalised Los Angeles Lakers jerseys with their names and PSG numbers. The No. 7 jersey was given to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and the No. 10 jersey was given to Ousmane Dembele. In the classic purple and gold Lakers colours, Lee Kang-in was assigned No. 19, Russian goalie Matvey Safonov was given No. 39, and Spanish midfielder Fabian Ruiz was assigned No 8.

How does jersey exchange help PSG?

The jersey exchange is just one more phase in PSG's strategic plan to establish itself as a global lifestyle brand that transcends the confines of traditional soccer. The French champions have pursued a number of partnerships with fashion brands, musicians, and non-soccer sports teams since being acquired by Qatar Sports Investments. The partnership benefits PSG by enhancing their marketing presence in the vital North American market.

PSG on the brink of Elimination from CWC

Paris St-Germain will face Seattle Sounders in their final group stage game of the 2025 Club World Cup on June 23, with both teams fighting to qualify for the next round. Earlier, Brazilian side Botafogo pulled off the biggest surprise of the tournament so far with a 1-0 victory over PSG at the Club World Cup.

Striker Igor Jesus, 24, scored in the first half when his strike from outside the area deflected off defender Willian Pacho and past goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Botafogo defended superbly to keep out Luis Enrique's side, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Goncalo Ramos squandering good chances to equalise.

The victory leaves Botafogo, who won their first Copa Libertadores title in 2024, on the brink of qualification to the knockout stages.
