Fire Breaks Out In Gwalior's Fortune Plaza Basement Parking; Over 25 Bikes Burnt
Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A major fire broke out in Gwalior’s Fortune Plaza on Sunday morning around 4 am. The fire caused serious damage, burning over 25 bikes belonging to delivery boys and one generator stored in the basement.
According to information, the incident occurred in the basement parking area of the Plaza, a commercial building located in City Center, near the SSP office in Gwalior.
As soon as the fire was reported, fire brigade teams reached the spot within five minutes. Five fire tenders worked for nearly two hours to bring the fire under control and stop it from spreading to the rest of the building.
Short-circuit in e-bike suspected
The fire caused serious damage, burning over 25 bikes belonging to delivery boys and one generator stored in the basement. Initial investigations suggest that the fire may have started due to a short circuit in the e-bike charging system or a fault in the generator.
However, the exact cause is still being investigated.
According to sources, the basement had 32 bikes, a generator, and other materials. If the fire had not been controlled in time, it could have spread to the entire building.
Fortune Plaza houses several restaurants and hotels, and delivery boys usually park their bikes in the basement. Most of the burnt bikes had food delivery boxes attached to them.
Thankfully, no injuries or loss of life were reported in the incident. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
