Attention Thanekars! Entry, Exit Closed For Heavy Vehicles On Thane-Ghodbunder Main Road Until July 14; Check Alternate Timings, Routes

Thane: Metro construction is advancing swiftly in the Mumbai metropolitan region, especially on Metro Line 4 in the Kasarvadavali area of Thane, overseen by MMRDA. Between June 22 and July 14, beams will be installed from Nagalabunder Signal to Indian Oil Pump, requiring the closure of Ghodbunder Road for large and heavy vehicles from 11 PM to 4 AM every day, with light vehicles being redirected. Due to its importance for Thane's traffic, this closure may worsen current congestion, particularly in peak hours.

MMRDA's concentration on beam installation will lead to occasional traffic management along the Thane-Ghodbunder main road. Key services like police, fire departments, ambulances, and those using the green corridor are not subject to the limitations. Drivers are urged to look for different paths.

Heavy vehicles heading to Thane-Ghodbunder, particularly near Gaimukh Metro Station, will be rerouted around pillar number 85, turning left at pillar number 102 towards the Indian Oil Pump. Light vehicles will also travel from pillar number 85 to the main road close to Indian Oil Pump through Seva. Traffic approaching Thane from the Naglabandar Signal close to Asha Wine Shop will be stopped, with alternative paths available through Seva to Lodha Splendra, ensuring effective traffic management during the construction phase.

Alternate Routes

From Mumbai/Thane towards Ghodbunder:

Entry Termination: Y Junction and Kapurbawadi Junction.

Alternate Route A: Travel through Nashik Road, Kharegaon Toll Naka, Mankoli, Anjurphata.

Alternative Route B: Turn right at Kapurbawadi Junction and continue through Kasheli, Anjurphata.

From Mumbra/Kalwa to Ghodbunder Road:

Entry Termination: Kharegaon Toll Plaza.

Alternate Path: Journey beneath Kharegaon Khadi Bridge through Kharegaon Toll Naka, Mankoli, Anjurphata.

From Nashik towards Ghodbunder road:

Closure of Entry: Mankoli Naka.

Alternate Path: Turn right beneath Mankoli Bridge and continue through Anjurphata.

From Gujarat/Mumbai/Virar/Vasai towards Ghodbunder:

Entry Restrictions: Chinchoti Naka and around the Fountain Hotel.

Different Path: Take the route through Chinchoti Naka, Kaman, Anjurphata, Mankoli, and Bhiwandi.
