Cong pays tribute to Virbhadra Singh on 91st birth anniversary

Himachal Pradesh Congress leaders and workers gathered paid homage to former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on his 91st birth anniversary here on Monday. The leaders and workers paid floral tributes to the late leader, remembering his contributions to the state’s development.

Agriculture Minister Chander Kumar said Virbhadra Singh was the champion of development in the state. “Virbhadra made a huge contribution to the development of the state, which will always be remembered. As a minister, I learnt a lot while working under his leadership,” he said.

PWD Minister and Virbhadra Singh’s son Vikramaditya Singh emphasised the importance of following Virbhadra’s ideals and path while highlighting his commitment to the state’s development. “He served people as the Chief Minister for more than 22 years. He did developmental work without any discrimination, giving priority to the overall development of the state. That’s the reason why he’s remembered with such love and respect,” he said.

Singh further said the late leader’s statue would be unveiled at the Ridge on July 15. “The event was initially scheduled for June 23, but has been postponed to accommodate the central leadership’s participation,” he said. Several party leaders, including former ministers, mayors and councillors attended the event.
