Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Jethalal and Babita to quit the show after 17 years? Here’s what we know!
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is the longest-running sitcom on Sab TV, entertaining audiences with its fun-filled content to this date. The much-loved Bhootni track, revived by the makers, is sure-short to evoke both fear and amusement among the audiences. In the current narrative, Taarak’s boss offers him and his wife a pleasant getaway in his bungalow, Holiday Home.
But Taarak requests his boss to allow the people of Gokuldham Society to tag along with him. Impressed by his work and company’s rising profits, he agreed to his demand. But the twist is, he is unaware that his boss secretly wants him to investigate the truth behind the rumours of his bungalow being haunted.
The members of Gokuldham society enthusiastically set out on a vacation at Taarak’s boss’s home. As they all are chilling and having fun, the storyline shows Atmaram Bhide, claiming to experience a ghost on the roof. However, his wife neglects this, calling it as a bad dream.
The next morning, feared Bhide informs the group about the ghost, creating panic among other members. But Taarak tries to calm everyone, explaining ghosts don’t exist.

Fans notice Jethalal and Babita ji’s absence
While the chilling teaser leaves fans both excited and scared, they also noticed that their favourite characters Jethalal (played by Dilip Joshi) and Babita Ji (played by Munmun Dutta) are missing from the current plot. Their absence lead to rumours about their exist from the show. However, show’s production house has confirmed that Munmun Dutta hasn’t quit the show, as reported by ABP news. As per the storyline, Jethalal is currently on a business trip with his associates, while Babita Ji and Iyer are reportedly holidaying in Mahabaleshwar.
