Action in this direction started from Monday. A team of different railway officials from four departments under the leadership of the area officer has inspected both the washing pits. Earlier it was decided that washing pit number two would be electrified and asked to be prepared soon for the maintenance of VIP trains.

Now both one and two are being looked at. A five-member team of railway officials has started brainstorming on which washing pit can be made suitable for this. On the other hand, due to improper construction of washing pits, waterlogging is taking place even in light rain.

Higher officials have also been informed about this. Along with the coaching depot officer, railway officials of operations, electric, signal etc. have been included in the investigation team.

Officials again active to prepare washing pit:

When the number two washing pit was inspected last time, it was found that there was no place to install electric poles along the railway line, but later there was talk of making space there. Meanwhile, the matter was stopped due to the Maha Kumbh Mela. Now the officials have again become active to prepare a washing pit that can accommodate 26 coaches.

Work is going on to make Muzaffarpur Junction world-class at a cost of four and a half hundred crores, but due to its speed being slower than a tortoise, all the work is stuck. Till now the office has not been able to go to the Combined Terminal Building, whereas it was to be run in March itself.

Permission was received last year:

Let us tell you that permission was received from the Railway Board last year to run Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat trains from Muzaffarpur. In this, a plan was made to run 15 Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains from PUMRE. There was talk of running Amrit Bharat trains from Muzaffarpur to Kolkata, Muzaffarpur to Delhi. Apart from this, a proposal was sent to run Vande Bharat from here to Kolkata, Delhi.

At present, a Vande Bharat to Gorakhpur on Muzaffarpur-Champaran route started from Patliputra on 22 June. Looking at the demand of passengers, it can be extended to Lucknow and Delhi in future.

A state-of-the-art coaching depot will be built in Kaparpura:

A new state-of-the-art coaching depot is also to be built in Kaparpura-Kanti. It will cost Rs 300 crore. The land survey work has been completed. Once it is built, the trains of Muzaffarpur and Samastipur will be maintained there. Samastipur DRM Vinay Srivastava had decided to build a new coaching depot in Kaparpura last year.
