Navi Mumbai International Airport News: The launch date of Navi Mumbai International Airport is not yet final. But passengers have already been told how much they will have to pay as user fee. Yes, passengers using the airport will have to pay a User Development Fee (UDF) of Rs 1,225. The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) has given permission to levy a User Development Fee (UDF) of up to Rs 1,225 at the under-construction Navi Mumbai International Airport.

This airport is being developed by Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited (NMIAL). Passengers flying from this airport, which will be operational later this year, will have to pay Rs 620 for domestic flights and Rs 1,225 for international flights as User Development Fee (UDF).

According to the 42-page order of the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA), the User Development Fee for domestic and foreign flights for passengers landing at the airport will be Rs 270 and Rs 525 respectively.

The User Development Fee has been approved on an informal basis for FY 2025-26. The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority said that it has been decided to allow the imposition of UDF on an informal basis as an interim measure till March 31, 2026 or till the final determination of regular fees (whichever is earlier).

The Navi Mumbai airport being developed by the Adani Group is expected to start flying later this year. Its annual capacity is to handle two crore passengers in the first and second phases. Its capacity will increase to 5 crore in the third phase in FY30, 7 crore in the fourth phase and 9 crore in the last and fifth phase.

The Airport Authority has estimated the movement of 11.98 million passengers in FY26. If sources are to be believed, IndiGo will become the first airline company to start flights from Adani Group-owned Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA). It is being told that Indigo’s first commercial flight will take off from here.

Airport User Development Fee (UDF) is a type of fee. Passengers have to pay this fee to use the airport. This fee has been fixed for the financial year 2025-26. After the airport starts, a regular tariff policy will be made. After this, there may be changes in UDF. This UDF will remain applicable at Navi Mumbai Airport till the new policy is made or till March 31, 2026.
