Liverpool transfer window updates: Milos Kerkez signing locked, Darwin Nunez's future to be discussed with Napoli today

Liverpool's summer transfer window remains eventful. A week after making the EPL record signing of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, the Premier League champions have now completed another successful signing.
After weeks of deliberations and fruitful discussions, Milos Kerkez has signed on the dotted line with Liverpool. The Hungarian left-back flew down to Merseyside with his family on Monday (June 23) to meet the management and complete the formalities.
Medical tests were also conducted, with the five-year contract stipulating a transfer fee of £40 million to Bournemouth. Kerkez's signing makes him Liverpool's third acquisition of the summer window, having also signed Jeremy Frimpong prior to Wirtz's record signing.
Kerkez made headlines during his stint at the Dutch club AZ Aikmaar from where he signed up for Bournemouth in 2023, at a fee of £18 million. After a lukewarm start to his EPL career, Kerkez impressed in the 2024 season, scoring two goals and providing six assists—apart from being a solid figure at the back for Bournemouth.

An official statement on Kerkez's signing is expected from Liverpool anytime today (June 24), with further details on possible add-ons also set to be mentioned in it. Meanwhile, amidst all the acquisitions, Liverpool is also keenly planning to offload some of their resources to manage their financial stability.
'One of their major attackers, Darwin Nunez, is all set to leave the club in this transfer window, but his destination hasn't been locked yet.
The Uruguayan centre forward has given his green light to the Italian Serie A champions Napoli, but Liverpool is yet to finalise a deal for the same. Grapevine has it that Liverpool's representatives are set to make direct contact with their Napoli counterparts on Tuesday to discuss the details of the Nunez signing.
Discussions are still in the initial stages, but some progress is expected in the coming week regarding Nunez's future.
According to The Athletic, Napoli's offer for Nunez is likely to be in the vicinity of £36.7 million, although Liverpool's asking price is approximately £42.7 million at the moment.
Negotiations on Tuesday will provide a clearer picture of whether Liverpool and Napoli can reach a middle ground regarding this deal.
