Navi Mumbai To Host 'Emergency Exhibition' On June 25 To Mark 50 Years Since 1975 Emergency

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Emergency declared in India on June 25, 1975, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) is organizing a special ‘Emergency Exhibition’ on June 25, 2025, at Vishnudas Bhave Auditorium, Vashi.

The exhibition, set up as per the directives of the Central Government, will offer a detailed glimpse into the key events, decisions, and public life during the 21-month Emergency period.

The exhibition aims to educate the younger generation about this critical phase in Indian democracy and showcase the socio-political impact it had on the nation. Rare photographs, documents, and accounts from that time will be displayed to provide visitors with a historical perspective.

The exhibition will be inaugurated at 11:00 AM, following a symbolic rally organized by the civic body from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk to Vishnudas Bhave Auditorium, starting at 10:00 AM.

NMMC officials have urged citizens, especially students and history enthusiasts, to attend the exhibition and learn about this significant period in India’s post-independence journey.
