Stray Horror! Dogs Attack 15 Kids In MP's Khargone; Bite Their Face, Scratch Heads & Leave Them For Stitches
Khargone (Madhya Pradesh): Around fifteen children were bitten by stray dogs on Monday morning in Sanjay Nagar and Dussehra Maidan areas of Khargone, creating panic among locals, who are now keeping kids indoors.
The injured children were rushed to district hospital where doctors gave them emergency treatment. All victims received stitches and were kept under close watch for their safety.
Most of the children suffered serious wounds on their heads, cheeks and faces. Some elderly people also got hurt when they tried to save the children from the attacking dogs.
Dr Pankaj Mahajan treated all patients with rabies shots and antibiotic medicines. He said special care was needed for children because of their serious condition. Three children named Anavia, Raj and Alia had deep facial wounds.
The injured victims included Abdullah Afsar Sheikh,6, Anaviya Raja Mansoori,4, Raj Muria, 6, Alia Ejaz Mansoori, 4, Anas Waseem Mirza, 32, Fanij Lohar, 6 and Muqeem Mansoor Kukdol, 60.
Angry parents blamed Municipal Corporation Khargone for the incident. Families said they complained against vicious stray dogs many times, but officials did nothing. People on social media also shared incidents of dog attacks from other areas.
Municipal officials promised to catch the dogs but said members of NGOs create problems during dog-catching operations. Locals want the civic authorities to catch stray dogs and sterilise them.
