'Kuch Dinon Mein Aadat Daal Lenge...': Shubhanshu Shukla Shares First Message From International Space Station (VIDEO)
Mumbai, June 26: Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, who became the first Indian to visit the International Space Station (ISS), shared his thoughts during the Axiom-4 mission welcome ceremony on Thursday (June 26). Shukla called his arrival at the ISS a big moment for India and a proud step towards the country’s future in space.
Speaking from the ISS, Shukla said, "Ek chhota sa sandesh mere pyaare deshwasiyon ke liye – aapke pyaar aur ashirwad se main surakshit taur par International Space Station (ISS) tak pahuch chuka hoon. Yahan khade rehna aasaan lagta hai, lekin asal mein thoda mushkil hai. Sar halka sa bhari lagta hai, thodi takleef bhi ho rahi hai, lekin yeh sab chhoti-chhoti baatein hain. Kuch dinon mein hum in sab cheezon ke aadat daal lenge."
(A small message for my dear fellow Indians – with your love and blessings, I have safely reached the International Space Station (ISS). Standing here may look easy, but in reality, it’s a bit difficult. The head feels slightly heavy, and there is a little discomfort, but these are all small things. In a few days, we will get used to all of this).
He also said, "Yeh is journey ka pehla padav hai. Agle 14 din hum yahan ISS par rahenge, kai important science experiments karenge, aur aap sab se baatcheet bhi jaari rakhenge."
(This is the first step of this journey. For the next 14 days, we will stay here on the ISS, conduct several important science experiments, and continue to stay in touch with all of you).
He further stated, "Mujhe lagta hai ki yeh padav sirf iss mission ka hi nahi, balki Bharat ki apni space journey ka bhi ek naya shubh aarambh hai. Jab main Dragon capsule mein tha tab bhi maine aapse baat ki thi, aur ab ISS se bhi karta rahunga."
(I believe this step is not just a part of this mission, but also a new and auspicious beginning for India’s own space journey. I spoke to you when I was in the Dragon capsule, and now I will continue to do so from the ISS as well).
He also said, "Aaiye is mission ko ek zabardast journey banate hain. Aap sabka utsaah aur saath mere liye bahot maayne rakhta hai. Main bahut hi excited hoon, aur jo Tiranga main apne kandhe pe leke chal raha hoon, woh mujhe har pal desh ke prati garv ka ehsaas dilata hai."
(Let’s make this mission an incredible journey. Your enthusiasm and support mean a lot to me. I’m truly excited, and the Tricolour I carry on my shoulder constantly reminds me of the pride I feel for my country).
He also stated, "Mujhe poora vishwas hai ki agle 14 din hamare liye bahot hi exciting honge. Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!"
(I am fully confident that the next 14 days will be very exciting for us. Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!).
Shukla is on a 14-day mission, during which several important science experiments will be carried out. He said he is looking forward to the work ahead and promised to keep talking to everyone during the mission.
Shukla also thanked the ISS crew for their warm welcome. He said entering the ISS felt like walking into someone’s home where he was truly welcomed.
