Hundreds Of Students Get ‘Zero’ In English, History Papers In Chhatarpur; ABVP Stages Protest Irregularities At Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundelkhand University

Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): A massive group of students and workers of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a fierce protest against the alleged irregularities in the result at Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundelkhand University on Friday.

Allegations of giving zero marks to hundreds of students in subjects like History and English and marking students absent despite of attempting the exam fueled the anger amongst the students.

According to reports, the protestors allegedly locked the administrative building and staged a sit-in, after which they had a fierce clash with the police and university employees. After the ruckus that lasted for about two hours, the problems were explained to the Vice Chancellor and SDM.

Protestors demanded inquiry in 7 days

The student council demanded an inquiry and action in seven days, otherwise warned of a fierce agitation against the university administration. Meanwhile, the university management has assured to draw conclusions by solving the matter.

According to the information, at around 12 o'clock in the morning, the workers of the student council reached the administrative building of Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundelkhand University shouting slogans and locked it. In response, the employees locked it from inside, after which the sloganeering intensified.

Protest turned violent after police intervened

Civil Line Police reached the spot and tried to stop the protesters, but this escalated the tension and led to a clash. The uproar lasted for about two hours.

The Registrar came to meet the protesters, but he was refused to meet them. Later, SDM Akhil Rathore and Vice Chancellor Shobha Tiwari arrived on the spot, in front of whom the workers put forth their problems.

The Vidyarthi Parishad alleged that the university management recently insulted the workers and committed gross irregularities in the results. The organization raised slogans against the Vice Chancellor's dictatorship and alleged scams.

Many workers including department coordinator Abhinav Chakraborty, district coordinator Satyam Vishwakarma, Rajdeep Tiwari, Kritika Mishra, Akash Dixit, Shailendra Singh, Vivek Singh, Janardan Patna participated in the protest.

Allegation of irregularities in the result

Student Himanshi Goswami said, "The university hasalmost half the students of History and English zero. Many students took part in the examination, yet they were shown absent, while the result of some was put on waiting". According to students, these irregularities endangers our career and dreams.

"This protest is the result of the negligence and irresponsible attitude of the university management." she further added.

On the other hand, the university vice-president of the Vidhyarthi Parishad Shailendra Singh Rajawat said, "The organisation has been working for the students and the nation for 75 years. These serious irregularities have come to light in the recently declared results".

The organization raised slogans against the alleged small and big scams in the university and the vice-chancellor's dictatorship. They demanded action be taken against the culprits, and playing with the future of the students be stopped.
